2008 Annual ReportA message from our CEO
December 12, 2008 Dear Friend, We believe stable, healthy homeownership serves as the foundation for any family to build a stronger future. NeighborWorks® HomeOwnership Center Sacramento Region has been busy over the past 12 months helping families that did not have the homeownership education necessary to make the financial choices that develop default resistant homeowners. We have been offering weekly seminars to reach hundreds of our neighbors facing foreclosure in order to help them preserve their homeownership or successfully transition to alternative living arrangements. We have been working with local neighborhood associations to get residents civically involved and help find their voice to give positive input to the revitalization efforts in their micro-neighborhood. We work with local businesses to "adopt" the home of a deserving senior to paint their home during our annual Paint the Town event. We offer financial fitness education to local high school juniors and seniors to help them understand basic checkbook terminology so they can make smart and informed financial decisions. Our mission is to deliver full-cycle programs and services as those mentioned above that provide opportunities for people to achieve successful, sustainable homeownership, investing in their future and in their community. We hope you will consider a 2008 contribution to NeighborWorks® HomeOwnership Center. Our Board of Trustees and Board of Directors need your help in raising funds to support the delivery of quality programs. Our resources have been stretched as we extended our operating hours in order to help a larger number of homeowners struggling to keep their home. We offer our services in American Sign Language, Russian, English, Spanish, Hmong and other languages on an as-needed basis to reach even more of our neighbors in need. We have enclosed a copy of our 2007 annual report highlighting our successes.
