NeighborWorks® HomeOwnership Center Sacramento Region is committed to offering residents affordable resources so they can buy, maintain, and sustain their home. We offer many services and tools to help people become homeowners. A combination of affordable loan products and free, comprehensive homebuyer education classes lead to successful borrowers.
The mission of the NeighborWorks® HomeOwnership Center Sacramento Region is to make homeownership opportunities available to low- and moderate-income individuals and families. This includes providing quality homebuyer training and education, and assistance in obtaining financing and post-purchase services including budget and credit counseling for current homeowners.
Buy your first home by following these steps:
- Step 1: Register for our Homebuyer Education Orientation
- Classes are offered weekly in both English and Spanish at 2400 Alhambra Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95817.
- View the workshop schedule. Other languages are available upon request.
- Step 2: Meet with a Homeownership Counselor Individually
- Make an appointment with one of our Homeownership Counselors for individual consultation about your financial and credit background. The consultation is free. If you have a copy of your credit report, please bring it with you. Please call our office at 916-452-5356 ext. 210 or info@nwsac.org to schedule your individual appointment.
- Step 3: Get Pre-Approved for a Mortgage Before Shopping for a Home
- Before you begin looking at homes to buy, get a mortgage pre-approval so you'll know that you can qualify for a loan and the loan amount. NeighborWorks® HomeOwnership Center Sacramento Region can assist you in getting this pre-approval.
